Newport is a city in the state of Rhode Island. It is located on Aquidneck island and it is a seaside city. Newport is located in Newport County. It is located about 37 miles away from Providence to the southeast, about 74 miles away from the south of Boston, and about 21 miles away from Fall River. Another beach is Gooseberry Beach, which is a private beach but is open to the public on certain days throughout the year. It is located along Ocean Drive and it is near two of Newport’s other private beaches. These other beaches include, Bailey’s Beach and Hazard’s Beach.
Newport has three different elementary schools. These schools include, Pell Elementary School, St. Joseph of Cluny Sisters’ School and St. Michael’s Country Day School.
